...Service Above Self Interact is Rotary International’s service club for young people ages 14 to 18. Interact clubs are sponsored by individual Rotary clubs, which provide support and guidance, but they are self-governing and self-supporting. Clayton High School, in conjunction with the Clayton Rotary Club and District 7710, proudly supports Interact in the community! Chartered in 1993, the CHS Interact Club works alongside the Town of Clayton, Johnston County, Clayton High's KEY Club, and many other service-related organizations. We have sponsored children from Haiti, and have had several students receive scholarships from Rotary International. The goals of Interact are: * To recognize and develop constructive leadership and personal integrity. * To encourage and practice thoughtfulness of and helpfulness to others. * To create an awareness of the importance of home and family. * To build respect for the rights of others, based on recognition of the worth of each individual. * To emphasize acceptance of individual responsibility as the basis of personal success, community improvement, and group achievement. * To recognize the dignity and value of all useful occupations as opportunities to serve society. * To provide opportunities for gaining increased knowledge and understanding of community, national, and world affairs. * To open avenues of personal and group action leading to the advancement of international understanding and goodwill toward all peoples.
