SPARTA Lunch@ SSS
Spartans Pursuing Academic Responsibility To Achieve
What Is SPARTA Lunch?
SPARTA Lunch is a 70-minute period built into the daily schedule at SSS that allows time for students to meet with teachers, attend tutorial sessions, complete assignments, work on projects, participate in intramurals, meet with counselors, use computers, research and read in the media center, attend club meetings, eat lunch, and socialize with peers.
Students may eat lunch in any of our designated areas, which include the cafeteria, courtyard, memorial garden, and teacher classrooms. They may not leave campus during SPARTA lunch per JCS policy. Food/drink is not permitted in hallways, computer labs, or the media center. Students are expected to clean up after themselves.
Students should also take advantage of the opportunity to make up time during SPARTA lunch. Attending 2 tutorials will equal making up one absence in a given class. With this option, any after school make-up time is at a teacher's discretion. Students will be allowed to make up no more than 8 days per class.
SPARTA Lunch Schedule
SPARTA Lunch occurs daily from 11:37-12:49. Students eat lunch at the following times:
Lunch A (Students whose last name begins with A-J) 11:37-12:12
Lunch B (Students whose last name begins with K-Z) 12:14-12:49
Teacher Tutorial Schedule
Students are encouraged to attend 3 tutorials per class each quarter. Any student who has below a 70 average (not passing) in any class is required to attend tutorials for that class. In addition, if a teacher requests a student to attend tutorial for any reason, students should plan to attend. Refer to the tutorial schedule below to plan your week.
*Students must complete a conference request form to schedule an appointment with a counselor.
