CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR STUDENTS WHO WERE NOMINATED FOR THE STUDENT EMPLOYABILITY SKILL FOR FAIRNESS--TREATING ALL PEOPLE EQUALLY.
Santiago Aguilar was nominated by BMS for the Character trait of "Courage". He was recognized by Johnston County Schools at presentation. See below statement read about him during his presentation. "We are proud to present Santiago Aguilar as Benson Middle School's nominee for "Courage." Santiago has suffered a tremendous personal loss this year, but has been an inspiration to his classmates and teachers alike, while demonstrating a willingness to continue on "in spite of." Santiago's peers look up to him as he is an outstanding friend and leader, as well as an absolute joy to teach. He has proven himself to be an excellent artist, athlete and student, and has never once been in trouble, or even late with an assignment. Despite the challenges he has faced this year, Santiago has never lost his smile or shied away from any responsibility. He is the type of student that without asking and being forced, goes above and beyond what is asked or expected of him. He has been an inspiration and a very positive influence on all that he comes into contact with, and his teachers unanimously and without reservations nominate him for this most deserving honor! We, the eighth grade teachers at Benson Middle School, are so incredibly proud of him! " Congratulations Santiago!! We are very proud of you.
