Dear RDE Parents,

Welcome back to all returning families and a big WELCOME to all new families.  We are very excited for the new school year!

  We have some very exciting news!  As most of you know, we are welcoming our new Principal, Mr. Jason Smith and several new teachers to our already fantastic staff!  As the number of students rise in our school, so do the needs of our teachers.  We want to make sure the PTA raises enough funds to provide a wide range of educational enrichment programs for the students. Money raised through PTA membership, along with fundraisers like the Fall Fun Run(New this year! More details to come!) help to fund classroom supplies, improve technology and much, much more. As the new school year begins, we ask for your support so that we can continue providing new and exciting opportunities for our children.

For the PTA to be effective and a true representative of the school, everyone’s participation is essential. Many parents feel that they cannot participate in the PTA because they cannot come to meetings or be on campus during the day.  We want everyone to feel that they are part of the River Dell Community.  Whether you have 30 minutes or a couple of hours, your ideas, your time, and your talents are truly needed. We can match your time constraints and interests to needed tasks. There are endless possibilities in ways you can help.

Keep in mind that by volunteering, you will get to enjoy interacting with the kids, become friends with other parents, and accomplish things that truly make a difference. We have many ways in which Moms, Dads, Aunts, Uncles, and Grandparents can contribute to our school community.  Research shows that students whose parents are involved in their education have better grades and fewer discipline problems. We promise that the time you give to the PTA and the school will be worth your while—and fun! Please consider volunteering, it really does make a difference in the lives of all our children!

The PTA welcomes you to join our meetings to raise your concerns and contribute your ideas and talents to better our school. We understand and realize that most of our parents work full-time, so we are going to try to accommodate this by holding some of the meetings at 6:00pm at our school. All meeting dates and activities will be posted regularly on the PTA school bulletin board and in the PTA newsletter. This year we are adding an electronic newsletter that will be emailed to you. We will also post updates in our Facebook group so please "Like" our Facebook Page!
