Good Morning, Powhatan!

We are implementing a school-wide program at Powhatan Elementary called “Good Morning, Powhatan!”  This program introduces our students to members of our community in an effort to show them how math is used in everyday situations.  

Our goal is to help our students see how math is relevant and useful not only in school, but also at home, work, and in the community.  We will be doing this through a short video problem of the day to be shown school-wide each morning.

We need your help to make this possible.  Would you consider sharing a mathematical-based problem that you encounter in your occupation or position?  We would be happy to come video for you, or you may have someone else do it an email it to us.  

Thank you for your time and consideration.  Your participation will help our students make the connection between the classroom and real life.

Get Ready ... It's Spring Fundraiser time!
