Why Career Development Education?

Career planning in the 21st Century is unique in that many changes are occurring in the workplace.  As these changes take place, it is imperative that workers be able to adapt in hopes of meeting employer needs while securing good jobs.  As 21st Century workers, we are all part of a global society.  These global technologies have made the world a much smaller place.  Trends such as lay-offs, outsourcing, temporary work, contract work, etc have only escalated the changes in the way we do business.  The necessity for job changes and workplace flexibility ensures that workers will be faced with many career choices throughout their lives.  In order to be prepared to make these choices, career planning will prove to be a critical role.
