![]() Welcome to McGee's Crossroads Elementary School - Home of the Patriots!!! Upcoming school events:
Mr. Anderson will have our Media Center open again this summer for our students. The media center hours will be from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm on the following dates:
Thank you Mr. Anderson for offering this wonderful opportunity to our students! Kindergarten Registration Information may be found on the Johnston County Schools Home page. Click on Parents - perspective parents and find Kindergarten registration information. You must register your child at the school in your attendance area. These attendance area maps can also be reviewed on the Johnston County Schools home page. Parents are reminded not to drop off their children before 8:15 in the morning. They are unsupervised before then. The bell will ring and staff members will be out to help students at 8:15 a.m. Parents are reminded to complete all health and immunization forms for their child entering Kindergarten. Bus information - Please make sure your child is supervised at the bus stop. Bus stops will be different fron last year due to budget limitations. Only students assigned to a given bus are permitted to ride on that bus. Recently we had notes from parents requesting that their child ride the bus home with another student. This cannot be done . You need to make carpool arrangements and both parents need to send in a note explaining the transportation arrangments for their children. We don't want anyone to be surprised when 6 children show up at their house for a sleep-over on a Friday night. Thank you for your assistance with this type of transportation issue. Families new to the McGee's Crossroads area with elementary school aged children are encouraged to contact the school at 894-7161 to make an appointment to enroll their child. Please call the school to find out what documentation is needed to assist in the enrollment process. Carpool students need to be in the building and in their classroom no later than 8:45 a.m. We have had too many parents dropping their child off late in the morning or picking them up early in the afternoons. These practices are very disruptive not only to your child, but the other students in the classroom. Please help your child learn how to be punctual by having them at school on time. Parents please to make sure your child has money for meals eaten at school. Each week you should receive a lunch account balance. Review this with your child and send in an appropriate amount of money to cover the cost of meals each week. If you have questions regarding your child's account balance call the school and ask for the cafeteria. Child Nutrition Services has posted their new price listing for meals. Prices are as follows: Breakfast - $1.35 Reduced $.30 Lunch (K-8) - $2.10 Reduced $.40 Milk - $.50 Free and reduced lunch forms must be completed by parents every year. These forms may be obtained from the school office at any time during the year should you need one. Outside lunches (McDonalds, Bojangles, etc.) are not to be brought into the lunchroom. Students and parents will need to eat in the office area should those items be brought to school. Thank you for your cooperation with following Child Nutrition Program guidelines. 2012 - 2013 School Hours: Doors Open at 8:15 a.m. Do not drop students off unattended before this time - We start carpool supervision at 8:15 a.m. Tardy Bell at 8:50 a.m. (Students should be seated in their classrooms by this time.) Dismissal Bell at 3:45 p.m. for carpool students. Parents, please stay in your cars when picking up your child from carpool. The other parents and staff appreciate your cooperation in helping us with dismissal using this safe procedure. ![]() |
